Waking
Waking, a beautiful day
Peaceful clear skies in the distance
But then to find
The world unkind
And everything changed in an instant
You, so steadfast and calm
Kind and gentle your heart sings
You touched our lives
With binding ties
Nurturing all living things
If everyone lived life as you
If everyone reached out to others
We'd all embrace
No Matter what race
We'd all be as sisters and brothers
And so your soul will live on
...You understand life's forever
You live within
Our memories again
Your certainty holds us together
I will remember you this way; I will
Remember you each day
And as the flame of freedom burns
I will turn
And face the sky
And wonder why
You're gone, You're gone,
But not forgotten, no,
...You'll never be forgotten
